Some of my exhibitions photos
In September 2009 I exhibited in Lewes as part of the Lewes8. www.lewes8.co.uk My theme was people working in traditional trades in Lewes
On 10th May from 11am, as part of the Brighton Festival Fringe and Pink Fringe (www.pinkfringe.org.uk) I will had my first festival exhibition at the Brighton Media Centre on Middle Street, Brighton.
My aim was to raise awareness of the trans community; to show how many people's pre-conceived and ill-conceived ideas of transgender and trans sexuality are skewed by the hidden nature of many trans people and the often distorted media representation. My models were all wonderful and gave me their time and I hope that they love their photos.
The same exhibition has also been shown at Jubilee Library in Brighton as part of IDAHOBIT and will be exhibited again at the Jury's Inn in 15th September as part of the 'Count me in too' project.
From 1st to the 28th February 2011 these photos were exhibited at Brighton's Jubilee Library in the main library. I am still looking for new models to add the this body of work as the intention is see it grow until it is over 50 photos and can make a very significant statement for Trans Awareness in some major cities around the UK and with some funding in San Francisco in 2013.
As a complete departure from my usual work I exhibited in two venues in Brighton as a part of the Brighton Photo Fringe 2010.
There were 2 themes blended into 1: the unspoken and underbelly of society in one venue and the soft rolling countryside and beauty of Sussex as well as some images of the upside of how we live. Next to each other they caused some interesting expressions on peoples faces, from worry and anxiety to smiles and reminising.
This is the working title for an exhibition planned for 2013. The models will be people who all consider themselves to be older members of society. It is probably the most exciting exhibition of portraits I will have done; the character and wealth of experience in older people is often ignored as irrelevant. My exhibition seeks to challenge the attitude that leads to loneliness, isolation and lack of respect, among other things.
There is no upper age limit but the lower one is suggested in the title. So if you, your partner, your parents, grandparents, neighbours or friends are over 60 please
